I bought an Ipod Photo and when i realized that almost all of my mp3 files didnt have pictures or album cover/art i was quite upset. After searching the web for a good mp3 tag editor WITH ability to auto-download the cover art directly to the file, i found out that there's not a lot of good software that does this. Of Course you can use Musicmatch Jukebox or Windows Media Player to get pictures but they are not very good for tagging, auto-complete fields or batch renaming. I tried many programs but not one works as well as this one. I have more than 10 000 MP3 and i got them organized, renammed with correct tags and album cover very quickly using this software. It's great for my Ipod photo !!!

MP3 Tags, ID3v1 Tagger, ID3v2 Tag Editor

MP3 Tags werden innerhalb MP3 Dateien gespeichert. Es gibt zwei unterschiedlichen Versionen der Tags: id3v1 und id3v2.

Die erste Version (id3v1) enthält die folgenden Felder:

Titelnummer.
Titel.
Künstler.
Album.
Jahr.
Genre.
Kommentar.

Also enthält id3v1 nur einen kleinen Teil der Informationen über das Lied. Auch können ihre Felder nicht größer als 30 Symbolen lang sein (wenn Titelnummer vorhanden ist, kann das Kommentarfeld nicht mehr als 28 Symbolen enthalten). Deswegen wurde eine neue Version, id3v2, eingeführt. Felder dieser Version sind nicht mehr begrenzt. Außerdem ist es möglich, Liedtexte, Fotos usw. innerhalb einer MP3 Datei zu speichern.

id3v2 unterstützt zusätzlich die folgenden Felder:

Albumkünstler.
Komponist.
Originalkünstler.
Urheberrecht.
Internetadresse.
Wer hat kodiert.
Liedtext.
Bilder.
BPM (Beats per Minute).

148 Genres werden durch id3v1 unterstützt, plus benutzerdefinierte Genres von id3v2.
